INTRODUCTION

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) has become a very controversial technology, and some writers are using it in a variety of ways to aid them in their writing process.

It is my belief and understanding that AI engines learn by ingesting massive amounts of data and using it to identify statistical patterns and generate similar information. It does this rather than thinking or understaning things like a human. In most cases, it uses this data without permission from or compensation to the original author.

It is believed that generating such text or images and claiming them as one’s own is generally considered unethical and possibly plagerism. As a result, AI-generated text and images are not copywritable since it is not origianl human authorship.

As a result of the research I’ve done on the use of AI, here is my official position on it’s use:

HUMAN AUTHORED

No generative artificial intelligence (AI) was used in the writing of any of my books. In addition, no generative AI was used in the creation of any of my covers or any interior graphics.

And while AI-powered spelling and/or grammar checkers are generally considered ethical and professional, I will continue to use human editors and proofreaders for the checking of all of my stories.

NO GENERATIVE AI TRAINING USE

I expressly prohibit any entity from using any of my publications for the purpose of training AI technologies to generate text, including without limitation technologies that are capable of generating works in the same style or genre as any of my publications, as my body of work is not a part of the public domain and all rights and permissions to this literary work are copyrighted.
